Chinese President Xi Jinping's historic visit to the United States has greatly boosted the confidence of business communities in both countries in deepening cooperation, a spokeswoman for the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) said on Tuesday.
Xi's just-concluded state visit to the United States generated fresh momentum in bilateral relations across multiple fronts. Prior to the visit, Chinese and U.S. economic and trade teams concluded their latest round of consultations in New York. The two heads of state acknowledged the positive role of the bilateral economic and trade consultation mechanism, recognized the outcomes achieved by their respective teams, including a reciprocal tariff reduction deal valued at 30 billion U.S. dollars, and instructed that these agreements be fully implemented.
Speaking at a press conference in Beijing, Wang Wenshuai, the CCPIT spokeswoman, said that U.S. companies have shown strong interest in the upcoming 2026 APEC CEO Summit in Shenzhen in November, with the U.S. currently having the largest number of registered companies among all APEC economies.
Wang said this highlights the continued interest of the U.S. business community in Asia-Pacific economic cooperation and reflects the close links between China and the U.S. across industrial and supply chains. She stressed that business leaders from both countries have responded positively to the recent meeting between the two presidents.
"The business communities of both China and the United States widely believe that President Xi Jinping's historic visit to the United States and the important consensus reached by the two heads of state play an extremely important role in charting the course for business cooperation between the two countries, and have greatly boosted the confidence of the two business communities in deepening cooperation and pursuing mutual benefit and win-win outcomes," said the spokeswoman.
