China always welcomes Japanese enterprises to develop business and share market opportunities in the country, Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng said on Tuesday.
He, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, made the remarks when meeting with a delegation from Japanese Association for the Promotion of International Trade (JAPIT) in Beijing.
Noting that China and Japan are close neighbors and important economic and trade partners to each other, He urged the JAPIT to keep to the right course on historical issues, continue to carry forward the tradition of friendship with China, and play a greater role in advancing China-Japan economic and trade cooperation.
Takeshi Iwaya, president of JAPIT, said that Japan's business community is ready to further expand exchanges with China, and contribute to the continuous growth of bilateral economic and trade ties and deeper mutually beneficial cooperation.

A section of National Highway G242 in Wuxi County, southwest China's Chongqing Municipality, collapsed on Monday following days of heavy rainfall, prompting local authorities to close the road and seal off the area.
The collapsed section, about 15 meters long and 3 meters wide, saw half of its roadbed fallen and washed away by torrential floodwater, leaving the pavement severely damaged.
Local government and public security departments swiftly closed the section after the danger was detected, barring vehicles and pedestrians from the hazardous zone to prevent possible secondary disasters.
As raingfall continues, conditions are not yet safe for personnel or machinery to enter the affected area. Repair work will begin once the rain stops, river water levels recede, and the mountain and roadbed are fully stabilized, according to authorities.
The Chongqing Municipal Hydrological Monitoring Station reported that from 8:00 a.m. Monday to 8:00 a.m. Tuesday, most of Chongqing saw moderate to heavy rain, with some areas experiencing torrential downpours. The rainfall caused 37 small and medium-sized rivers to see their water levels rise by 1 to 5 meters, with five exceeding warning levels. As of 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, the water levels on all of the rivers have fallen back to below the alert threshold.
