BENTONVILLE, Ark.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct 20, 2026--
It’s time people got more out of their memberships. And paid a whole lot less. Starting today, Walmart+ and Sam’s Club Plus are available together for $120 a year — almost $100 less than members were previously paying for the two memberships separately.

“We’re giving people a reason to expect more from their memberships,” said John Furner, president and CEO, Walmart Inc. “For $120 a year, we’re raising expectations for what a membership can deliver: more money in their pockets and more time to call their own.”
Consider what people may be paying today: $139 for a retail membership with delivery. $130 for a warehouse club. $129.99 for a single, stand-alone streaming service. Nearly $400 a year, before they’ve bought a single thing.
Walmart is giving them a reason to rethink all of it. For the equivalent of $10 a month, members get the following and so much more:
The value goes well beyond the math.
Walmart stores and Sam’s Club locations are already part of the communities they serve. Their memberships help with different parts of the same everyday life.
It’s the big Sam’s Club haul before everyone comes home for the holidays. The weekly essentials from Walmart, plus the forgotten dinner ingredient brought to the door. Together, they help with the shopping people plan for and the needs they don’t see coming.
It’s also prescriptions delivered when someone’s sick, so they don’t have to leave the house. Gas before work, groceries delivered after and a movie once the kids are asleep.
One less errand. One less scramble. More of those nights and weekends back.
Every reason to upgrade. Every reason to join.
New members can get both for $120 a year. For existing members:
The best of both memberships isn't just for customers. U.S. field associates at Walmart and Sam’s Club will get both memberships as part of their benefits, too.
Join, upgrade or link accounts in the Walmart or Sam’s Club apps or at walmart.com/plus/samsclub.
Costs related to this change in membership program are not expected to materially impact the company’s fiscal Q3 or full year guidance as provided on August 20, 2026.

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct 20, 2026--
Monroe Capital LLC announced today that its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Theodore L. “Ted” Koenig, was featured in Bloomberg after speaking during a mainstage panel discussion at the CAIS Alternative Investment Summit in Beverly Hills, where he addressed the challenges of accurately valuing illiquid private credit investments on a daily basis.
This press release features multimedia. View the full release here: https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20261020485518/en/
In the October 14 Bloomberg article, “Daily Private Credit Marks Called ‘Illusion’ After Apollo Move,” Koenig questioned whether daily valuations can accurately reflect the underlying financial condition and credit fundamentals of privately originated loans.
“Daily marks in illiquid private assets is an illusion of precision, not accuracy,” Koenig said.
His comments come amid increasing industry attention to private credit valuation methodologies, transparency and the availability of financial information necessary to assess underlying investment performance.
Koenig emphasized that meaningful credit valuations require comprehensive borrower-level analysis, financial statements and other fundamental inputs that are not typically available on a daily basis.
“To have actual marks, you need financial statements, you need other inputs that you don’t receive on a daily basis,” Koenig added. “There’s just no way to do this.”
The discussion follows recent industry developments aimed at introducing more frequent valuations across private credit portfolios, raising broader questions about the distinction between pricing frequency and valuation accuracy.
As one of the longest-standing private credit platforms focused on the U.S. lower middle market, Monroe Capital has consistently emphasized disciplined underwriting, fundamental credit analysis and transparency throughout market cycles. Koenig’s remarks reflect the firm’s longstanding belief that accurate valuations are rooted in comprehensive borrower analysis and reliable financial information.
Koenig's perspective underscores a fundamental consideration for private credit investors: greater frequency of reporting does not necessarily translate into greater accuracy or transparency. Reliable valuations depend on the quality of underlying information, disciplined underwriting and a comprehensive understanding of borrower fundamentals.
The Bloomberg article also featured commentary from Drew McKnight, Co-Chief Executive Officer of Fortress Investment Group, who raised similar questions about the limitations of daily pricing without detailed analysis of individual borrowers.
As private credit continues to evolve, Koenig's remarks highlight the importance of maintaining rigorous investment and valuation disciplines alongside innovations in portfolio reporting and investor transparency.
