Secures investment from consumer focused investor VMG Partners; grows to 100 stores across the U.S. ten years after opening its first store

SEOUL, South Korea, Oct. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Miss A, a beauty and lifestyle brand founded in the United States, has secured a strategic investment from VMG Partners, a leading consumer focused investment firm, at a valuation of nearly KRW 1 trillion.

The milestone comes ten years after the company opened its first store in the U.S. in 2016.

Headquartered in Dallas, Texas, Miss A was founded by Kenneth Baik and Jean A Baik. The business started online in 2013 and expanded quickly after opening its first store in 2016, growing into a national retail brand anchored in major shopping malls across the U.S. Guided by a philosophy of offering trendy, quality products at affordable prices, Miss A now operates about 100 stores nationwide, with a growing range of beauty, skincare, accessories, lifestyle products and its own brands.

Since its founding in 2013, Miss A has grown entirely self-funded, and this is the company's first outside investment. The investment reflects recognition from a leading U.S. institutional investor of the business model and growth potential Miss A has built in the U.S. market. VMG Partners, which has a track record of identifying high-growth consumer and beauty brands and helping them scale, is making a minority investment, and the co-founders will continue to lead the company.

"When we started this business more than ten years ago, our goal was never just to sell inexpensive products," said Kenneth Baik, co-founder and CEO of Miss A. "We wanted to build a brand where anyone could discover and enjoy new, quality beauty and lifestyle products without worrying about the price. This investment recognizes what we have built, and it is also a new beginning for Miss A."

"When we opened our first store in 2016, it was hard to imagine that ten years later we would operate 100 stores across the country and be valued at nearly KRW 1 trillion," Baik added. "If the last ten years proved what Miss A can be, the next ten years will be about fully realizing that potential."

With this investment, Miss A plans to accelerate store growth in major metropolitan areas and key retail markets across the U.S. While maintaining its price competitiveness and quality, the company will strengthen its skincare and beauty categories, its own brands and product development, and step up investment across the business, including supply chain, logistics, IT systems and talent.

Last year, Miss A launched Seoul Scandal, a K-beauty shop-in-shop, marking its full entry into K-beauty. Seoul Scandal brings together popular K-beauty brands loved by American consumers, and its own Seoul Scandal skincare line is set to launch at the end of this year. As Miss A opens more stores, the company plans to expand Seoul Scandal across the U.S. and deepen partnerships with Korean beauty brands and manufacturers.

Miss A aims to reach 550 stores across the U.S. and $1 billion in annual sales by 2030. "Our goal is not simply to open more stores, but to build one of America's leading beauty and lifestyle retail brands," said Baik. "The last ten years were just the beginning. The real Miss A story starts now."

About Miss A

Miss A is a beauty and lifestyle company that started online in Texas in 2013. It has grown through affordable prices, high quality, fast product turnover and a wide range of trend-driven products. Each store carries more than 15,000 products (SKUs), so customers find something new every time they visit. Miss A has grown without traditional advertising, purely through word of mouth from its customers.

SINGAPORE, Oct. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Peikko, together with the Embassy of Finland in Singapore, brought together leaders from Singapore's built environment sector, government, engineering and development communities for "2030: Doing More with Less – Connecting Sustainability with Productivity," exploring how construction can increase productivity while reducing the use of materials, labour and other resources.

Held on 21 October at the residence of H.E. Juha Markkanen, Ambassador of Finland to Singapore, the event brought together representatives from Peikko, the Embassy of Finland, Singapore's Building and Construction Authority (BCA), Ramboll and leading organisations across the construction and property sector.

The programme opened with an address on Finland–Singapore collaboration by H.E. Juha Markkanen. Justin Lim, Deputy Director of the Built Environment Tech Alliance (BETA), addressed Singapore's path to building smarter and greener.

Speakers also included Ted Howland, Senior Director, Group Sustainability at CapitaLand Investment; Ar. Razvan I. Ghilic-Micu, Director at DP Architects; and Alessandro Marzucchini, Technical Director and MMC Director at Ramboll, bringing together perspectives from across the built environment.

A panel discussion moderated by Joona Selin, Trade & Innovation Counsellor at the Embassy of Finland, explored how sustainability ambitions can translate into greater construction productivity.

"The construction industry needs to deliver more while consuming fewer resources. Achieving this requires us to rethink not only what we build, but how we design, manufacture and assemble structures. By combining efficient structural solutions with industrialised construction, we can improve productivity while supporting the transition towards a lower-carbon built environment," said Topi Paananen, CEO of Peikko Group.

The programme also explored Modern Methods of Construction and Peikko's solutions for efficient, prefabricated structures.

The event concluded with industry networking at CapitaSpring, continuing the exchange between Peikko's international leadership and Singapore's construction, engineering, development and design communities.
