An autumn scenic loop through Hualong Hui Autonomous County in Haidong City, northwest China's Qinghai Province, reveals the Yellow River's Danxia valley views and Gangshan eco-scenic area's layered rocky forests, as the pristine eco-resources are drawing droves of tourists and helping local villagers forge a path to ecological prosperity.
In Shasuoma Village, autumn unfolds differently than in densely-hued forests, as it has a warm touch peculiar to the Yellow River valley. Nestled alongside the gently flowing Yellow River, Shasuoma's waters resemble a smooth jade embraced by red Danxia cliffs.
There are ochre mountains, emerald waters, and riverbank poplars and sea buckthorn softly turning yellow and red -- all blending into a stunning tri-color palette.
"Our village lives off the Yellow River. The autumn scenery is becoming more beautiful each year, attracting more and more visitors. This growth boosts the village's collective income and allows farmers to sell local specialties right at their doorsteps, so villagers can earn much more than before," said Duojie Caidan, head of the village.
A 10-kilometer drive from Shasuoma along mountain roads brings visitors to Gangshan Eco-Tourism Scenic Area. Leveraging its rich resources of jagged rocks, striking peaks and pristine mountain forest, the park offers a forest cafe, eco-lodges, and camping grounds where visitors can enjoy natural beauty while experiencing lcoal culture. Instead of just snapping some photos before they left, many now choose to stay overnight and explore at leisure.
