Breathtaking Tyndall effect graces Mount Lushan's Wulao Peak

A stunning Tyndall effect lit up the skies above the Wulao Peak on Mount Lushan in east China's Jiangxi Province, creating a dreamlike autumnal spectacle.

On Wednesday, brilliant beams of sunlight poured through the gaps in stratocumulus clouds, piercing the mountain mist and casting a shimmering glow across the rolling mountains below. Clouds over Mount Lushan appeared radiant and vibrant, creating a mesmerizing landscape that felt straight out of a painting.

The Tyndall effect is the scattering of light as a light beam passes through a colloid cloud. When the clouds are thick, and fog and dust fill the air, the sun pierces through and dispenses anticrepuscular rays. It most commonly appears during the early morning, at dusk, or following periods of rain.
