A resolution adopted at a plenary session of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee highlights strengthening the enforcement of institutions in advancing Party building, a senior official said in Beijing Friday.
Xie Chuntao, vice president of the Party School of the CPC Central Committee (National Academy of Governance), elaborated at a press conference on the guiding principles approved at the just-concluded plenum, which was held in Beijing from Oct 26 to 29 and adopted the Resolution of the Central Committee of the CPC on Certain Major Issues Concerning Persevering with Full and Rigorous Party Self-Governance.
"The eighth part of the Resolution of the Central Committee of the CPC on Certain Major Issues Concerning Persevering with Full and Rigorous Party Self-Governance, in setting out the tasks of running the Party with systems and regulations, puts forward specific requirements on strengthening the enforcement of institutions," Xie said.
"It stresses strengthening the rigid constraints of institutions, upholding that everyone is equal before the institutions, that no one enjoys special privileges in observing the institutions, and that there are no exceptions in enforcing them; it requires that the enforcement of and oversight over institutions run through the entire process of Party organizations and Party members and officials performing their duties, ensuring that institutions carry authority at all times and remain effective in all places, and resolutely correcting any disobedience of orders or defiance of prohibitions," he said.
