At the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, Gabonese President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema will pay a state visit to China from Nov. 3 to 7, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Mao Ning said at a regular press briefing in Beijing on Monday.
Mao then introduced the arrangement for Nguema's state visit and China's expectation of future bilateral relations.
"This visit marks President Nguema's first state visit to China since taking office. During the visit, President Xi Jinping will hold welcoming ceremony and banquet for President Nguema, and the two heads of state will hold talks. Premier Li Qiang and Chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee Zhao Leji will meet with him separately. President Nguema will also attend the 9th China International Import Expo and visit Shanghai," Mao said.
"China and Gabon are comprehensive strategic cooperative partners that enjoy traditional friendship and mutual trust. Over the past 52 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between them, the two sides have always supported and helped each other, achieved fruitful results in practical cooperation across various fields, and maintained close coordination and collaboration in international affairs. China is ready to work with Gabon to take this visit as an opportunity to elevate bilateral relations to a new level and make greater contributions to building an all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future for the new era," said the spokeswoman.
