As the host of the just-concluded first China Media Group (CMG) World Robot Mount Tai Climbing Competition, Tai'an in east China's Shandong Province focused on embodied intelligence in side events and signed nearly 30 projects, turning the event traffic to dynamic driving force for the city's embodied intelligence industry.
The competition took place at Mount Tai in Tai'an on Monday. It brought nearly 90 teams of humanoid, quadruped, exoskeleton and other robots to compete in categories of humanoid robot racing, legged robot racing, load carrying, exoskeleton assistance and an all-terrain exploration task.
Beyond the competition, Tai'an held side events on the embodied intelligence featuring an industry ecosystem exhibition and an industrial development cooperation conference.
These side events attracted 110 companies and 20,000 visitors, leading to the signing of 28 projects across six core areas: manufacturing, data industry, industry-education integration, application scenarios, computing platforms, and frontier research and development.
"We're especially interested in the many industrial scenarios here in Tai'an, Shandong, and expect to work with local companies," said Zhou Changyong, an exhibitor.
"This is a new starting point for us. We hope to continue hosting such exhibitions in the future and attract more embodied intelligence companies to Tai'an," said Zhang Bin, an official from the Tai'an Bureau of Commerce.
At the exhibition, participating companies displayed a wide range of robotic applications, spanning bionic companionship, fire rescue, and medical rehabilitation.
"Our bionic robot is particularly catered to children with autism," said Di Shoubin, an exhibitor.
"The firefighting water cannon we made can replace the core firefighter to go into the fire site," said Zhu Changyu, another exhibitor.
"Our medical robots is effective in treating muscle pains and some inflammatory conditions," said Liu Wentao, another exhibitor.
"It's getting more and more amazing. Technology has truly changed our life," said Zhang Aiguo, a visitor.
