The ongoing 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE) has witnessed numerous signing ceremonies, providing a platform for cooperation between Chinese and overseas companies.
As one of the sideline events of the 7th CIIE, the signing ceremony for the procurement of the large retail purchaser alliance of the Shanghai Trading Group was held on Friday.
A total of 26 projects were signed on-site, and procurement intentions were reached for 56 projects, covering categories such as food, consumer goods, and medical equipment, with a total procurement contract value of 3.7 billion yuan (approximately 515.37 million U.S. dollars).
"We expect a 'two-way' collaboration to help us bring more and better high-quality goods to China, and we aim to convert the traffic generated by the China International Import Expo into increased consumer spending," said Shi Xiaolong, vice president of Bailian Group, a large state-owned enterprise whose main business includes department stores, shopping malls, and outlets, as well as e-commerce, logistics, consumer services, and other fields.
"It's an honor and a pleasure to be here today and extend our cooperation into the future. So we're very optimistic for the opportunities to work together and bring some really nice products (to the market) together with my friends (partners)," said a overseas company representative at the event.
This year, the state-owned assets branch of the Shanghai Trading Group set a new record for the number of procurement transaction orders, securing 136 intended purchase orders with a total value of 2.84 billion U.S. dollars.
The intended purchase amount of seven companies exceeded 100 million U.S. dollars.
"We feel that this event is of a very high standard. The companies that signed contracts with us also felt that they were treated very well, which increased their determination to further push forward cooperation projects in the future," said Yang Jing, CFO of Lingang Group, a large Shanghai-based enterprise focusing on investment promotion and the operation of industrial parks, professional enterprise services, and sci-tech industrial investment.
The 7th CIIE, which runs until Sunday, has attracted 3,496 exhibitors from 129 countries and regions this year. The event also marks a significant milestone with the participation of 297 Fortune Global 500 companies and leading industry players from around the world.
