Siberian tigers in the largest keeping and breeding base in northeast China's Shenyang City, Liaoning Province, were frolicking in the snow after recent snowfalls had transformed their home into a playground.
The recent temperature drops were a gift to the over 100 Siberian tigers in the Shenyang Guaipo Siberian Tiger Park. They had been taking advantage of the weather to play with snow on the ground or enjoy walks in forests, with some even huddling together around trees to keep themselves warm.
The careful zookeepers were also thoughtful enough to make additional arrangements to help the tigers enjoy an even cozier winter with their diets and living conditions being improved.
"As it's cold in winter, we have added more meat to the tigers' diets such as beef and pork to help them resist the cold. As it's also wet in winter, we have also been putting dried straws on the outdoor enclosure on a regular basis, which can help protect the tigers from cold and keep them warm," said Song Haishan, a zookeeper.
The zookeepers' work won the hearts of the Siberian tigers, and they were spotted lying casually on the straws while enjoying sunbathing.
