The 19th China International Machine Tool (CIMT) Show was held in Beijing on Monday, highlighting a variety of innovative domestic products.

With the theme of "Collaborative innovation on digital and intelligent manufacturing is embracing the future," the six-day event attracted 2,400 machine tool companies from 31 countries and regions.

Intelligent numerical control technology is transforming the traditional machine tool industry swiftly. Much like a neural network, it enables precise control by coordinating the operation of multiple machines. "Ultimately, it can enhance its precision by 30 percent in the extreme scenario of six microns, while also boosting efficiency by 5 percent to 10 percent," said Wan Qian, vice president of Wuhan Huazhong Numerical Control Co, Ltd.

Official said China's machine tool industry is developing rapidly with the application of AI technology.

"With the application of AI technology and the rapid growth of the machine tool industry, production efficiency and quality have improved, costs have been reduced, and collaboration among upstream and downstream companies has been fostered," said Mao Yufeng, president of China Machine Tool and Tool Builders' Association.

Since founding in 1989, China International Machine Tool Show, a biennial event, has successfully held 18 sessions so far. CIMT is the largest, most prestigious and most influential professional machine tool exhibition in China, with its popularity regarded by the global machine tool industry as on a par with EMO of Europe, IMTS of U.S. and JIMTOF of Japan.
