The Palestinian death toll in Gaza has reached 52,243 after 18 months of Israeli attacks, the Hamas-run Gaza media office said on Monday.
Among the total, 65 percent were women, children and the elderly, according to a press statement from the office. Data shows that more than 18,000 children and 12,400 women have been killed, over 2,180 Palestinian families have not survived the conflict, and another 5,070 families have only one survivor left.
The statement said that the Israeli army has caused the deaths of more than 1,400 medical workers, 212 journalists and over 750 aid workers.
The office accused Israel of launching systematic strikes against civilians and called on the international community to hold the relevant parties accountable.
