Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a joint statement on further deepening bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for a new era on Thursday.

In the joint statement, China and Russia agree to firmly defend the victorious outcome of World War II.

The two sides described World War II as an unprecedented catastrophe in history, and China and the Soviet Union were the main battlefields in Asia and Europe, serving as the mainstay of resistance against militarism and fascism.

China and Russia are committed to preventing the resurgence of anti-humanity Nazism and racial supremacy, and will continue to resist the rise of neo-Nazism, the restoration of militarism, as well as the promotion of various forms of racism, racial discrimination, and xenophobia.

The two countries have set a model for the world on building new-type international relations, as well as on developing cooperation between major countries and between the countries as each other's biggest neighbor.

China and Russia support each other in terms of safeguarding national sovereignty, territorial integrity, security, and stability. Russia reaffirms its commitment to the one-China principle.

The statement noted that China and Russia are each other's important trade partner.

The two sides agree to push for a stable expansion of two-way trade with an optimized structure through lifting the share of high-tech products, and fostering innovative forms of e-commerce.

Both nations will work to deepen investment cooperation and consolidate the overall energy cooperation partnership.

Both nations reaffirm support for the diversity of culture and civilization.

China and Russia agree to enhance educational cooperation and improve the legal basis for collaboration.

They will continue to promote cultural activities within the framework of "China-Russia Years of Culture," and deepen collaboration in areas such as art performances, exhibitions, and libraries.

China and Russia expressed concerns over attempts to subvert the post-war international order.

The two countries reaffirm their commitment to abiding by international law, resisting any attempt to distort the basic principles of international law.

They pledge to uphold the international system with the United Nations at its core, reinforce the basic norms governing international relations based on the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, and push the realization of an equal and orderly multipolar world.

Both nations expressed support for the UN to play a central role in the governance of artificial intelligence.

The statement reiterates the willingness of China and Russia to strengthen close coordination within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

Both countries hope to push forward the strategic collaboration among BRICS nations in areas, including political security, economy, trade, finance, and people-to-people and cultural exchanges.

The joint statement says certain countries, under various pretexts, have arbitrarily imposed tariffs on their trading partners, seriously infringing upon the legitimate rights and interests of other countries and gravely violating WTO rules.

Both sides firmly oppose illegal unilateral bullying and unilateral protectionist measures, such as arbitrary imposition of tariffs and abuse of export control, which seriously disrupt the international economic and trade order, and have a profoundly negative impact on global industrial and supply chains.

China and Russia urge nuclear-weapon states to abandon the Cold War mentality and zero-sum games.

Both sides have expressed deep concern over the confrontational policies adopted by certain countries and their allies.

They call for ending the acts of interfering in other countries' internal affairs, undermining the existing security architecture in various regions around the world, and artificially drawing lines among countries and advocating camp confrontation.

China and Russia believe it is necessary to eliminate the root causes of the Ukraine crisis by fully adhering to the principles of the UN charter. Countries must abide by the principle of indivisible security and take the legitimate security interests and concerns of all countries into account.

They also appeal for the stability of the Middle East and advocate political and diplomatic means to addressing sensitive issues.
