China launched on Saturday a consumption promotion campaign for its vigorously developing Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area city cluster in south China.
The campaign, launched in Guangzhou City of Guangdong Province, was jointly initiated by China's Ministry of Commerce, the China Media Group (CMG), and the Guangdong provincial government. Along with the campaign, the CMG also launched a media campaign to promote domestic sale of high-quality export-oriented products.
In its efforts to carry out the campaign, the CMG will fully leverage the advantages of its powerful integrated communication platforms and media resources both at home and abroad to integrate the roles of high-quality resources to stimulate consumption enthusiasm in the Greater Bay Area, with the focus on boosting domestic consumption, the dragon boat economy, the silver economy and other contents concerned.
Several facilitation measures for boosting domestic consumption were rolled out at the event, which is expected to inject new vigor and vitality into in-depth integration of consumption and local industries, and into the economic development of the Greater Bay Area -- a megalopolis comprising the Special Administrative Regions of Hong Kong and Macao as well as nine cities in the neighboring Guangdong Province.
