At the invitation of the President of the Republic of Ecuador Daniel Noboa, Chinese President Xi Jinping's special envoy, Minister of Education Huai Jinpeng, attended President Noboa's inauguration in Quito, capital of Ecuador, on Saturday local time.

Noboa met with Huai on Friday.

Huai conveyed cordial greetings and best wishes from President Xi to Noboa. Huai said China and Ecuador are good friends and good partners, and since the establishment of diplomatic relations 45 years ago, relations between the two countries have developed steadily and cooperation in various fields has achieved fruitful results.

China always views its relations with Ecuador from a strategic height and long-term perspective, said Huai, noting that China stands ready to work with Ecuador to follow through on the important consensus between the two heads of state, and promote more achievements of the China-Ecuador comprehensive strategic partnership to better benefit their people.

Noboa asked Huai to convey his sincere greetings and best wishes to President Xi and expressed his gratitude to President Xi for sending a special envoy to attend his inauguration.

Noboa said Ecuador is firmly committed to the one-China principle, noting that the new government is looking forward to strengthening practical cooperation with China in more fields and continuously deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

China's movie industry is increasingly deriving its earnings from broader consumer economy.

Released during the 2025 summer season, the film "Nobody" became China's highest-grossing two-dimensional animated film -- and its success went beyond theaters.

Through licensing and brand partnerships, the movie has generated 2.5 billion yuan (about 358.3 million U.S. dollars) in retail sales to consumers, with more than 800 licensed products on the market.

Ranging from plush toys to food and home goods, the movie-related merchandise can be purchased from over 3,000 online and offline outlets.

Meanwhile, souvenir stores are crowded at Shanghai Disneyland's Zootopia themed land, with hats, plush toys, and collectibles seeing steady demand from visitors.

"China's film industry is no longer defined by box office revenue alone. It has become a new growth engine that links and energizes multiple cultural sectors. At the heart of every successful film is strong storytelling. High-quality productions create cultural value, which in turn enhances the commercial value of intellectual property and opens up new consumption opportunities. I believe China's film industry delivered an outstanding performance in the past year," said Chen Xiaoda, vice dean of Shanghai Vancouver Film School.
