The Communist Party of China (CPC) in Dialogue with Political Parties of Neighboring Countries was held in Beijing on Monday, gathering more than 200 party leaders and think tank scholars from over 20 countries.

Themed "Building a Community with a Shared Future with Neighboring Countries: Political Parties in Action," the event focused on issues such as exchanges between neighbor countries and mutual learning between civilizations, strengthening strategic mutual trust through dialogue and negotiations, and high-level opening-up and Asia's integrated development.

The guests at the event said that the dialogue meets the needs of all sides in amplifying the voice of the region and drawing a blueprint for cooperation between neighbor countries.

They said that security, development, civilization and mutual trust are all indispensable for building a community with a shared future.

Against the backdrop of rising unilateralism and protectionism in today's world, China's enhanced cooperation with its neighboring countries will help the Global South to jointly address challenges and achieve better development, they said.

"The Global South is now a rising force. I hope that in the future, the Global South can carry out more interactions and cooperation in various fields, and all countries can give full play to their own advantages and demonstrate their economic strengths," said Teo Nie Ching, vice chairwoman of Malaysia's Democratic Action Party and Malaysian deputy minister of communications.

"China is also one of the champion of pro-globalization and it's thought that it will enhance the ability or the cooperation between the developing countries, between the Global South, and also it will help the global economy to thrive in a new page. I think, all of the Global South, the countries, those who lies in the Global South, they will benefit from the pace of globalization," said Rupak Sapkota, foreign affairs advisor to former Nepalese Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda.

"To my knowledge, the Chinese government has made tremendous efforts in high-tech investment, research and development investment, and the talent cultivation in the field of basic research, just as the ROK has done. From this perspective, the ROK and China share similarities in economic growth strategies, which certainly creates competitions between the two countries, but it also presents broad cooperation opportunities for both sides.
