Alashankou Port, a major land port connecting China with Central Asia and Europe in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, has handled over 3,000 China-Europe (Central Asia) freight trains so far this year.
A China-Europe freight train loaded with automotive parts, home appliances and daily necessities departed from Alashankou Railway Station and headed towards Malaszeweicze, Poland, marking this year's 3,000th China-Europe (Central Asia) freight train passing through the land port.
Since the beginning of this year, the Alashankou port has continuously optimized the transportation organization of China-Europe freight trains, ensuring smooth and efficient train operations. This has contributed to the improvement of transportation efficiency and the port's customs clearance capacity.
As of now, there are 123 China-Europe (Central Asia) freight train routes passing through the Alashankou port, covering 21 countries including Germany and Poland. The goods transported on the routes include over 200 categories such as new energy vehicles, mechanical parts, electronic products and daily necessities.
Alashankou is China's important westbound port and the closest railway port to the European Union. The steady growth of China-Europe freight train services in terms of scale provides strong logistic support to the trade between China and the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) countries.
