An themed exhibition commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War will be held at the Museum of War of the Chinese People's Resistance Against Japanese Aggression in Beijing starting July 7, said the curator of the museum at a press conference on Thursday.

"The opening ceremony of the exhibition will be held on July 7. The exhibition, with the theme of 'remembering history, honoring martyrs, cherishing peace, and creating a great future', covers an area of 12,200 square meters, featuring 1,525 photos and 3,237 cultural relics. The themed exhibition will be on long-term display as a basic exhibit," said Luo Cunkang, curator of the Museum of War of the Chinese People's Resistance Against Japanese Aggression.

"The exhibition will comprehensively implement the spirit of the important discourse of General Secretary Xi Jinping on the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, fully embodies the important requirements of adhering to the correct historical view and carrying forward the great spirit of the war against Japanese aggression, and uses a variety of modern exhibition methods to present precious cultural relics, archival documents, historical images, artworks and historical scenes in a three-dimensional way to the audience," said the curator.

Luo talked about four main features of the themed exhibition at the press conference. "First, the exhibition will focus on presenting the 14-year history of the war against Japanese aggression from 1931 to 1945 in a coherent manner, comprehensively showcasing the magnificent epic of the Chinese people fighting for the survival of the country, the rejuvenation of the nation, and human justice under the banner of the Chinese united front against Japanese aggression, which was advocated and established by the Communist Party of China (CPC). Second, it will highlight the role of the CPC as a pillar in the whole-nation resistance war against Japanese aggression. We will strive to demonstrate that the CPC is the most resolute in defending the national independence, the most determined in safeguarding national interests, and the bravest in resisting foreign aggression," he said.

"Third, the exhibition will emphasize China's pivotal position as the main battlefield in the East during the war against Japanese aggression, and strive to showcase the significant contributions made by the Chinese people to the victory of the World Anti-Fascist War. Fourth, it will focus on telling the stories of the war against Japanese aggression well, delve into the details, use physical evidence to prove history, and present the great history and spirit of the war against Japanese aggression from multiple dimensions," said Luo.

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf warned on Sunday that Tehran would view the United States and Israel's military bases and facilities in the Middle East as "legitimate targets" should Washington take military action against Iran.

At a parliamentary session convened to review an emergency proposal on assembly regulations, Qalibaf emphasized that, at this highly sensitive juncture, Iran must accurately and thoroughly identify the schemes of its adversaries.

Qalibaf said that Iran is currently confronting Israel and the United States simultaneously on four fronts: economic, cognitive, military, and counterterrorism. Of them, the economic warfare and the cognitive and psychological warfare began many years ago and have persisted to this day, growing increasingly complex and intense in recent years.

The remarks came as U.S. President Donald Trump is reportedly "seriously considering authorizing a strike" against Iran, taking advantage of its nationwide unrest.

Protests have erupted in several Iranian cities since late December over the sharp fall of the rial and long-standing economic hardship. Iranian authorities have acknowledged the demonstrations and voiced willingness to address economic grievances, while warning against violence and vandalism.

Amid the ongoing protests, deadly clashes have been reported lately between police and what the government described as "rioters." However, no official death toll has been released.

Also on Sunday, Iran's semi-official Tasnim news agency reported that Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian will address the country's economic situation and political environment in a televised interview later that day.
