Venezuelan workers marched on Wednesday through the streets of Caracas to demand the release of President Nicolas Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores, who were detained by U.S. military forces on Jan. 3.
It marks the 12th consecutive day of citizens' street protests across Venezuela, where people are rallying to press the United States to free their president.
Holding signs and chanting slogans, the protesters are vehemently condemning the U.S. for its detention of Maduro and calling for a collective struggle to uphold national dignity.
"We want to tell our president that your people are here, standing firm in resistance. We march every day without pause, until you return home soon," said Elianny Flores, one of the protesters.
"We Venezuelans fight every day for our homeland, for our sovereignty, and to defend the dignity of our nation," said Mayerlin Barrios, another protester.
