China's policy on rare earth exports is in line with the international practice, Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said at a press conference in Beijing on Thursday.

Guo made the remarks in response to a media query about the European Union's recent comments on China's restrictions on exports of rare metals and rare earth magnets.

"China's policy on rare earth is in line with international practice. We stand ready to work with relevant countries and regions to continue enhancing dialogue and cooperation on export control and jointly keep global industrial and supply chains stable, safe and secure," said Guo.

China launched a Long March-8A carrier rocket on Tuesday in the southern island province of Hainan, sending a new group of internet satellites into space.

The rocket lifted off at 23:25 (Beijing Time) from the Hainan commercial spacecraft launch site. It successfully placed the payloads, the 18th group of low-orbit internet satellites, into preset orbit.
