Tianjin Municipality has completed a multitude of logistical and cultural upgrades to host the largest-ever Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit.

The summit will take place on August 31 and September 1 in the northern Chinese port city.

In preparation, the municipality has standardized English directional signs at rail transit stations, incorporated SCO-themed decorations, and upgraded translation equipment to enhance international service capacity.

"We have posted pictures of the SCO on the light boxes, Passenger Information System screens and theme trains. A total of more than 15,000 such locations have been set up across the entire network. We have set up multilingual translation machines at 63 core stations, which can support translation in over 40 languages," said Zheng Xiyu, director of network management center at Tianjin Rail Transit Group.

Meanwhile, the traffic management department has adopted various methods such as big data analysis and dynamic police deployment to ensure the orderly travel of citizens.

Additionally, Tianjin Railway Station will enhance passenger flow prediction and real-time monitoring, improve contingency plan, optimize passenger flow, and ensure that passengers can enter and exit the station quickly and orderly.

Furthermore, the power department will fully apply intelligent patrol and inspection system, patrol and inspection robots and infrared detectors to ensure urban power supply.

"After months of work in a meticulous and orderly manner, the preparatory tasks covering thousands of items in 10 sections, including environmental improvement, venue optimization, atmosphere creation, cultural and artistic display, meeting service, guest reception, and volunteer service, have all been completed. Preparatory work has been basically completed," said Yu Pengzhou, a Tianjin official involved in preparations.

This year's SCO Summit will convene leaders from more than 20 countries and heads of 10 international organizations, marking the largest gathering in the organization's history and underscoring its growing global influence and deepening cooperative agenda.
