A Slovak businessman attending this year's China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) has lauded the business opportunities brought by the fair and expressed his strong interest in future participation.

At the Slovakia Pavilion's enterprise booth, Krix, an international trade exhibitor from Slovakia, was discussing cooperation matters with a representative from a Chinese company. Krix said thanks to China's policy advantages, he had established his own international trade company in Hainan, an island province in southern China that has been established as a free trade port.

"I'm originally from the beautiful country of Slovakia. Currently, I live on Hainan Island, where I started my own company. Maybe you heard about the Hainan Free Trade Port. At the moment, we have just three different products from Slovakia. We also do some exports because many people in Slovakia are excited about Chinese products. Our company also focuses on promoting Hainan, promoting China in Slovakia," he said.

Participating in CIFTIS for the first time, Krix said he gained considerable customer feedback and opportunities for cooperation.

"This is my first time here, and I'm shocked. It was clear to me that this event is a national event, international event on a really the highest possible level. I can say my products have been received very well here. So I see this as a unique opportunity for me to get the immediate feedback from the possible consumers. I met a lot of people here who do their own business. We were able to have a very good conversation," he said.

Regarding future participation plans, Krix said that CIFTIS is an excellent platform that provides international exhibitors with opportunities to open the Chinese market, and he eagerly looks forward to returning next year.

"No doubt I would love to come here. This is my first time and definitely not the last time. As I said, (it's) the best opportunity so far we've had to present Slovakia and our products. And I really look forward to be back next year," said the Slovak businessman.

The 2025 CIFTIS took place from Wednesday to Sunday in Beijing with the theme "Embrace Intelligent Technologies, Empower Trade in Services". Since its inception in 2012, CIFTIS has brought together enterprises from around the world to share opportunities stemming from China's opening up and development of trade in services.
