China called on the United States to create an open, fair and non-discriminatory business environment for Chinese companies operating in the U.S., said Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun at a press briefing in Beijing on Monday.
Guo was responding to a media query concerning TikTok's operations in the U.S.
"China's position on TikTok is clear. The Chinese government respects the willingness of enterprises and is glad to see them conduct business negotiations in compliance with market rules and reach a solution that conforms to Chinese laws and regulations and strikes a balance of interests. We call on the U.S. side to provide an open, fair and non-discriminatory business environment for Chinese enterprises operating in the U.S.," said the spokesman.
