Beijing held a special conference on Tuesday to promote tourist attractions tied to the latest film releases which are being screening during China's National Day holiday season.

As part of a campaign of "Travel Following Movies," the event promoted scenic areas in several provincial-level regions such as Fujian, Jiangxi, Henan, Hubei, Guangdong, and Chongqing, as well as the Oriental Movie Metropolis in east China's Qingdao City and the Hengdian World Studios, which are filming or storytelling locations of the new films slated for the holiday season.

The films include "The Volunteers: Peace at Last", "A Writer's Odyssey 2", "Sound of Silence", "Sons of the Neon Night", "Three Kingdoms: Starlit Heroes", and the animated film "I'm Bond, GG Bond".

The campaign aims to create a new trend where tourists travel to a city because of a movie, so as to promote the integrated development of film and tourism industries.

Along with the Film Consumption Year initiative, the campaign has prompted local tourism service providers across the country to launch diversified activities, adopt preferential policies, and forge new products, new consumption scenarios, and new business forms to boost consumption during the holiday, which runs from Oct 1 to 8.

Some provincial-level regions sucha as Beijing, Anhui, Guangdong, and Sichuan have launched many film-themed scenic routes.

Other localities like Zhejiang, Henan, Chongqing, and Yunnan are offering discounts at scenic spots and hotels for travelers holding certain film tickets.

The Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in north China has achieved mutual recognition of tickets among cinemas, scenic areas, theaters, and football stadiums.

The China State Railway Group and operators of the country's first homegrown large cruise ship Adora Magic City have also scheduled film and tourism promotion events for the holiday season.
