The Russian military forces seized more settlements in eastern Ukraine on Sunday, while Ukraine repelled Russian offensives on multiple fronts.

The Russian troops have taken control of two more settlements in Kharkiv and Donetsk regions, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Monday.

Russian forces struck targets in multiple areas, including a US-made HIMARS multiple rocket launcher, military-industrial complexes, rocket and artillery weapons depots, material and technical support depots, and temporary deployment points of the Ukrainian troops and foreign mercenaries.

The Russian air defense system also intercepted Ukrainian drones, guided air bombs, HIMARS rockets, and destroyed some Ukrainian weapons and equipment on the day, said the ministry.

There were 149 combat clashes between Ukraine and Russia on Sunday, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said on Monday.

Over the past day, Ukrainian troops struck 10 clusters of Russian personnel and equipment and repelled the Russian offensive on multiple fronts, according to press reports.

The Ukrainian army also destroyed multiple pieces of Russian equipment, including tanks, artillery systems, multiple rocket launchers, and tactical drones.

Responding to U.S. President Donald Trump's remarks of possibly sending long-range Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said on Monday that the use of such weapons would require U.S. direct participation in the conflict.

On the same day, Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev warned President Trump that the supply of Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine could "end badly".

The multilateral system is "under attack" amid global turmoil, President of the 80th UN General Assembly Annalena Baerbock warned in her remarks on Wednesday.

In her briefing on the priorities for the resumed 80th Session of the General Assembly, the UNGA president noted that the current multilateral system does not collapse all in a sudden, but "crumbles piece by piece" in divisions, compromises, and lack of political commitment.

The president called all the UN member states to defend the UN Charter and international law and promote cross-regional cooperation.

She also urged to push forward the work of the UNGA on certain critical issues with a strong majority, rather than an absolute consensus among all member states. Such act is not a failure of multilateralism, but "an affirmation of it," she said.

The foundational principles of the institution should not be eroded by appeasement, she said, calling the member states to show courage, leadership, and responsibility at the UN's "critical make-or-break moment."

"The UN needs you. Your support, your leadership, your principle, stand, your cross-regional cooperation, if we are to preserve and modernize this institution, if we are to make it, rather than break it," she said.
