The China International College Students' Innovation Competition 2025, organized by the Ministry of Education along with 10 other departments and local government, concluded on Wednesday in Zhengzhou City, central China's Henan Province.
This year's competition attracted 6.19 million projects from 5,673 schools across 161 countries and regions, with a total of 24.43 million participants registered. From this vast pool, a total of 4,720 projects were selected as finalists.
At the championship match for the higher education category of the final, six teams from prestigious universities worldwide, including Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, University of Oxford, University of Leicester, Nanyang Technological University and Nanjing University of Science and Technology, competed fiercely.
Ultimately, the team from Tsinghua University claimed the first place with their innovative project on an AI architecture designed to think like a human.
"We developed a brand-new AI architecture that harnesses the cognitive abilities of the human brain and utilizes extensive data, employing probabilistic methods to predict the user's desired response. We hope this model will truly think like a human," said Chen Weilian from the team.
Since its inception in 2017, the competition has evolved into one of the largest global platforms for college students to showcase their innovative practices.
