Qingdao Port in east China's Shandong Province on Saturday opened another direct route to Southeast Asia, further boosting trade ties with the region.
The first vessel sailing along the route is MSC's container vessel DIEGO. The ship will carry a full load of chemical products, mechanical and electrical products, and fresh produce to destinations in Vietnam and Thailand.
This newly launched service is set to deploy six vessels, connecting key domestic hubs including Dalian, Tianjin New Port, and Shenzhen with major Southeast Asian nodes such as Vietnam, Thailand, and Singapore.
The new route is expected to significantly enhance trade efficiency between northern China regions and Southeast Asian countries.
This year, Qingdao Port has opened 17 new routes connecting to key regions including Latin America, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia, reinforcing its position as a vital international logistics gateway.
