Multiple international airlines from countries such as Brazil, Colombia, Chile, and Portugal had suspended their flights to and from Venezuela as of Saturday.
The suspension came after the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration on Friday warned major airlines of a "potentially hazardous situation" when flying over Venezuela and urged them to exercise caution.
According to media reports on Saturday that several U.S. officials have said the United States is prepared to launch a new round of actions related to Venezuela in the coming days.
In response, Venezuelan Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino Lopez said on Saturday that the increasing pressure on Venezuela exerted by the United States poses an enormous challenge of "unforeseen dimensions" to the peace and security of the Caribbean region.
