Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar will visit China and hold the Seventh Round of China-Pakistan Foreign Ministers' Strategic Dialogue from Jan. 3 to 5, 2026, a Chinese foreign ministry spokesman announced at a press briefing in Beijing on Wednesday.
Dar's visit is at the invitation of Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Chinese foreign minister, Lin Jian, the spokesman said.
When asked about China's expectations for the visit, Lin emphasized the enduring and strong ties between the two countries.
"China and Pakistan are ironclad friends and all-weather strategic cooperative partners. In recent years, our high-level exchanges have been frequent, political mutual trust has grown stronger, and pragmatic cooperation has continued to expand. Our bilateral relationship is maintaining a sound momentum of high-level development," said Lin.
"The year 2026 marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan. This visit will serve as the opening event for the commemorative activities celebrating this milestone. China looks forward to taking this visit as an opportunity to further implement the important consensus reached between the leaders of the two countries, strengthen strategic communication and coordination, deepen exchanges and cooperation across various sectors, launch a series of anniversary celebration events, and accelerate the building of an even closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future in the new era," said the spokesman.
