The promotional video of China Media Group (CMG)'s 2026 Spring Festival Gala was showcased in some cultural and exhibition events in Hungary, Saudi Arabia and Argentina in recent days, attracting many Chinese culture lovers with the unique audiovisual charm of the Chinese New Year.

The Spring Festival, or the Chinese New Year, is the grandest traditional holiday for the Chinese people, and watching the Spring Festival Gala on television is a cherished part of the celebrations in hundreds of millions of Chinese homes.

This year's Spring Festival Gala will be broadcast live around the world on the Chinese New Year's Eve on February 16.

In Cegled City, Hungary, hundreds of people watched the promotional video of the CMG Spring Festival Gala at the eighth "Chinese Spring" Cultural Festival on Sunday.

Participants of the cultural event also enjoyed dragon and lion dances, martial arts and acrobatics, as well as calligraphy and painting exhibitions.

"It's a great pleasure to be able to enjoy the highlights of the Spring Festival Gala here. The visuals of the Gala are truly impressive. I suggest that everyone should learn about Chinese culture and gain a deeper understanding of its ancient heritage," said Ferenczi Norbert, a government representative of Cegled.

In Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, many visitors of the Future of Media Exhibition (FOMEX) watched the promo of the CMG Spring Festival Gala and had an immersive audiovisual experience of Chinese New Year.

Guests from various media companies and organizations were amazed at the AI media applications and premium content presented by the CMG.

"The Spring Festival Gala produced by CMG is outstanding, successfully showcasing China's profound and remarkable progress in various fields such as culture and technology. CMG keeps up with the times, presenting this progress to the world with the best possible image and production quality," said Mohsen Malik, an official from the Arab States Broadcasting Union.

In Ushuaia City of Argentina's Tierra del Fuego, an island at the farthest end of the Earth, the promo of the CMG Spring Festival Gala was showcased on two wide screens in the city center.

Many tourists stopped to watch the video showing a stage brimming with the festive atmosphere of the Chinese New Year, diverse cultural performances and visual displays rich in Chinese cultural elements.

"I have always been very interested in Chinese culture. It's exciting to see the promotional video of the Spring Festival Gala today and have the opportunity to personally experience and witness such Chinese cultural activities here in Tierra del Fuego," said Aaron Saul, a local resident.

Since first being broadcast in 1983, the CMG Spring Festival Gala has been recognized by Guinness World Records as the most-watched annual television program on the planet.

Just over a year ago, the Spring Festival itself was inscribed on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

At least 21 more Palestinians, including children and a paramedic, were killed in Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip on Wednesday, said the Palestinian Civil Defense in Gaza.

Mahmoud Basal, spokesman for the Civil Defense, said that the Israeli army had been carrying out artillery and airstrikes on Gaza City and Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip since dawn, targeting tents sheltering displaced people and residential buildings.

In the latest attack, an Israeli drone struck a tent housing displaced people in the al-Mawasi area west of Khan Younis, killing three, including two women and a paramedic, according to Basal.

"All the children were terrified and screaming because of the sound of the bombardment. My children ran toward me because of the explosions. I tried to calm them down, but smoke was everywhere around us," said Fatima Al-Astal, a displaced Palestinian woman living near the attacked tent.

"Paramedic Hussein was among the first ambulance crews to arrive at the scene. He managed to retrieve two bodies. Due to the large number of casualties, he was forced to return again to rescue the injured. At that moment, the area was targeted once more, which led to his killing," said Yassin Mutair, director of the Khan Younis Ambulance Center.

Basal added that 14 people, including three children and five women, were killed and several others were wounded in artillery shelling on the outskirts of the Zeitoun and Tuffah neighborhoods east of Gaza City. Some of the wounded were taken to Al-Shifa Medical Complex.

Earlier, four people, including a child, were killed in Israeli artillery shelling that targeted tents sheltering displaced people in the Qizan Rashwan area south of Khan Younis. The victims were taken to Nasser Medical Complex in the city.

Also on Wednesday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement that militants opened fire on its troops during routine operations near the northern Gaza border, severely injuring an Israeli reserve officer.

"Upon identifying the fire, IDF armored units and IAF aircraft conducted precise strikes in the area. The IDF views this attack as a blatant violation of the current ceasefire agreement," it said.

In response, Hamas dismissed the Israeli claim as a "flimsy pretext" to justify continued killings in the Gaza Strip.

Israeli escalation was "an attempt to impose a permanent reality of abuse and terrorism in Gaza," in flagrant disregard for the terms of the ceasefire agreement and existing understandings, Hamas said, calling for immediate international pressure to stop Israel's violations.

Since a ceasefire between Hamas and Israel came into effect on Oct. 10, 2025, Israel has killed 556 Palestinians and wounded 1,500 others, according to Gaza-based health authorities on Wednesday.
