China stands firmly against interference in the internal affairs of other countries under whatever pretext, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said on Wednesday.
Mao made the remarks at a press conference in Beijing in response to a query about U.S. Senator Ted Cruz's claim on Tuesday that in the next six months, the regimes in Iran, Venezuela and Cuba could all fall and be replaced with "governments that want to be friendly with America".
"China opposes interference in the internal affairs of other countries under any excuse, and stands against any actions that violate the purposes and principles of the UN Charter or infringe upon the sovereignty of other nations," said Mao.
