Chinese stocks closed higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.72 percent to 4,147.23 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 1.28 percent higher at 14,475.87 points.
The combined turnover of these two indices totaled more than 2.46 trillion yuan (about 354.87 billion U.S. dollars), up from 2.2 trillion yuan on the previous trading day.
Stocks in the minor metals and energy metals sectors led the gains, while cinema and film stocks, along with Sora-related shares, were among the top laggards.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, gained 1.40 percent to close at 3,354.82 points.
The STAR Composite Index, which reflects the performance of stocks on China's sci-tech innovation board, closed 1.2 percent higher at 1,819.72 points.
