All parties have the responsibility to ensure a stable and unimpeded energy supply, and China will take necessary measures to safeguard its own energy security, Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said at a press briefing in Beijing on Tuesday.
Guo made the remarks in response to a query about the Middle East situation and global energy security.
"We are deeply concerned about the persistent tensions in the Middle East. All parties should immediately cease military operations to prevent further escalation and avoid a greater impact of regional turbulence on global economic development. Energy security is of vital importance to the world economy, and all parties have the responsibility to ensure a stable and unimpeded energy supply. China will take necessary measures to safeguard its own energy security," said Guo.
