The New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor (ILSTC), a key logistics route connecting western China to global markets, facilitated a record 239.76 billion yuan (about 35.2 billion U.S. dollars) worth of imports and exports from provinces and cities along the route in the first quarter of this year, up 17.9 percent year on year, according to data released by Chongqing Customs.
At present, the corridor's transportation network reaches nearly 600 ports in 128 countries and regions worldwide, handling more than 1,300 types of goods.
Products such as automobiles, motorcycles and laptops from China's central and western regions are transported to destinations worldwide via the new corridor, while quality goods from around the world -- particularly agricultural products from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) -- are also reaching the Chinese market more quickly.
