Uzbek blogger Irina Agzamkhodzhayeva has expressed a strong sense of security and trust among people in China's Shanghai Municipality. She demonstrated the self-service of paying for ice creams with her smartphone and a QR code on a freezer at a large store in Shanghai.
She noted that such a convenient and efficient payment mode is built on mutual trust among people and the stable social order in China.
"Regarding security in China and the level of trust among Chinese people, look, I walked into this huge store where there are a lot of people. Besides the regular checkout counters, where shoppers can purchase a wide range of products, standalone freezers allow customers to buy ice cream simply by scanning a QR code, avoiding long lines at the checkout because there are already many people out there. These freezers are equipped with QR codes. The label reads "self-purchase." There are four such freezers in the store. Having selected the ice creams, I will pay for them right here and leave," said Agzamkhodzhayeva.
"I paid 16 yuan for these two ice creams. Now I can depart calmly without joining the long queue at the checkout counter. And yes, nothing gets stolen here. Now I understand why there are so many people there. This ice cream is just amazing!" she added.
