China highly appreciates Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis' repeated expressions of willingness to improve China-Czech relations since he took office in December 2025, as well as his reaffirmation of the Czech government's firm commitment to the one-China policy, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Guo Jiakun said on Wednesday.
Local media reported Babis recently reaffirmed the Czech government's firm commitment to the one-China policy and its active efforts to normalize relations with China.
"China and the Czech Republic share a profound traditional friendship. Mutual respect, equal treatment and mutually beneficial cooperation have always been the key principles guiding the development of bilateral relations. A healthy and stable relationship serves the fundamental interests of both countries and the common aspirations of their peoples," Guo said at a press conference in Beijing.
"Since assuming office, Prime Minister Babis has repeatedly expressed his willingness to improve China-Czech relations and reaffirmed his government's steadfast commitment to the one-China policy. China highly appreciates this," said the spokesman.
