Infrared cameras have recorded adorable scenes of mother and baby deers foraging together in the forests of Ailao Mountain in southwest China's Yunnan Province.
The recent footage showed female red muntjacs venturing out cautiously in the wooded area with their young fawns close by.
In tender and heartwarming scenes, young deers were seen to stay nearby their mothers, alternating between searching for food and running back to share some affection.
Staff members at the nature reserve said the repeated capture of such footage indicates that the reserve's ecosystem is healthy and that food sources are abundant to serve the growing population of red muntjacs in the area.

Sixty ambassadors and diplomats from 37 countries have traveled on Monday to explore China's frontier of reform and opening‑up in Guangzhou, south China's Guangdong Province.
The envoys visited an automobile company to observe the full intelligent manufacturing process for new energy vehicles. The electric vertical take‑off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft on display drew plenty of attention.
"Some enterprises who are very innovative and who also cooperate with Austria. Now that China is very successfully producing new energy vehicles and electric vehicles that are being manufactured in Austria and from there are sold in many European countries," said Wolf Dietrich Heim, Austria's Ambassador to China.
The delegation then visited Haixinsha Technology Island (Future Island), in Guangzhou, touring the nation's first all-space intelligent system exhibition platform. The venue showcased the latest achievements in frontier industries such as the low-altitude economy and embodied intelligence, offering the envoys an immersive experience of future technology.
"That reflects the enormous progress of China in the area of technology. What we have seen today in robotics in the automobile manufacturing is really amazing," said Marcelo Gabriel Suarez Salvia, Ambassador of Argentina to China.
The envoys learned that Guangdong boasts a well-developed modern industrial system, with production volumes of communication equipment, drones, and industrial robots ranking first in China for extended periods.
Themed "Set Sail for the 15th Five‑Year Plan: China's Growth, World's Opportunity (Guangdong)", the visit was jointly launched by China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Guangdong Provincial Government.
In the coming days, the ambassadors and diplomats will continue their visits across multiple locations in Guangdong.
During the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-2030), Guangdong will continue to cooperate with Hong Kong and Macao SARs in relevant areas, jointly building a vibrant and internationally competitive world-class bay area and global city cluster.
