Chinese President Xi Jinping has stressed a better life for the people on the new Long March to create a brighter future for the country.

Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, made the remarks during an inspection trip to the city of Dezhou, east China's Shandong Province, on Wednesday.

The CPC will mark its 105th birthday on July 1, and the Party has united and led the Chinese people of all ethnic groups in making great achievements worthy of history and the people over the past 105 years, Xi said to residents at the Xiyujia Village.

Noting China is marching on the new journey of building the country into a modern socialist country in all respects, Xi called for concerted efforts in keeping up the stride on the new Long March to create a brighter future and continuously meeting the people's aspirations for a better life.

"We should never forget our original aspiration and founding mission, and must keep up our stride on the new Long March. We must continue to advance the socialist cause under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, so that our people can enjoy a better life," said Xi.
