International representatives have hailed the ongoing China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) in Beijing as a platform for seeking supply chain partners and learning about China's experience in smart supply chains.
Themed on "Connecting the World for a Shared Future," the fourth CISCE, taking place from June 22 to 26, has brought together over 600 enterprises from upstream and downstream, as well as government delegations from multiple countries.
Laureano Ortega Murillo, advisor to the Nicaraguan president, said he expects the annual event to become a fulcrum in propelling Nicaragua's rapidly expanding partnerships with China.
"This is our first time, and we are sure that it will not be the last. We hope to be here every year from now on. Between China and Nicaragua, we have many projects. Many Chinese companies are working in Nicaragua. And we need to secure the supply chains for these projects that are being executed also in Nicaragua. So, this is why it's so important to come here," the presidential advisor said.
Serbian Minister of Domestic and Foreign Trade Jagoda Lazarevic said the expo has offered countries like Serbia an opportunity to learn China's advanced experience in smart supply chains, covering areas such as intelligent manufacturing and industrial robotics.
"When we speak about the supply chain, the smart supply chains, we're speaking about advanced manufacturing, about robotics, about the flow of the new technologies. All the areas where the Chinese are definitely the number one. And this is something that other countries, including my country, are not only following; we have so much to learn, adapt in order to do it in a timely manner," she said.
Dominic Trindade, commercial minister at the Australian Embassy in China, said Australia aims to make itself known as a clean and green product supplier and a reliable supply chain partner.
"This year, Australia is guest country of honor for the China International Supply Chain Expo. We have a key message -- we've been more than just a supplier of high-quality, clean, green products; we've also been a reliable partner in terms of the efficiency of our supply chains," he said.
Oliver Oehms, executive director and board member of the German Chamber of Commerce in China - North China, said the expo is expected to help enterprises to study the business prospect in the Chinese market and even the Asian market at large.
"Business confidence is still relatively high of the ones which are doing business here, much more higher than this has been the case last year. We're getting a better feeling of what this year will bring for us doing business here in China and in Asia. It's definitely also very potent B-to-B platform for our companies. The whole trade fair sends out a strong message, a message of confidence and belief in supply chains," said Oehms.
Launched in 2023, CISCE is the world's first national-level exhibition focused on supply chains.
