Giant rice-paddy murals stretch across the fields in spectacular displays at a rural eco-tourism park in Yinchuan, capital of northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, drawing crowds of visitors from across the region.

From the air, visitors can view the massive paddy artworks bursting with vibrant colors, lifelike and vivid. The displays feature a phoenix totem poised to take flight and this year's zodiac motif of a galloping horse.

Apart from the paddy murals, visitors can also enjoy fishing in rice paddies and other playful water-side activities such as fish feeding and parent-child angling.

Firefighters rescued a man who was swept into a flooded river in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region on Saturday, after severe convective weather brought heavy rain, hail and flash floods to parts of Chifeng City.

The incident occurred at around 17:00 in Erdaojingzi Village, Hongshan District, when the man tried to cross the river on an electric tricycle and was carried by the current toward the middle of the waterway.

Rescuers arrived to find fast-moving water and heavy rain. Carrying life-saving equipment, including lifebuoys, they moved to the opposite bank, where the ground was higher and the current was relatively calmer, before approaching the stranded man.

After placing a lifebuoy on him and securing him, the rescuers brought the man to safety. He was later found to be unharmed.
