Millions of Iranians took to the streets of the capital city Tehran on Monday for the funeral procession of Iran's late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, paying their respects to the late leader and vowing to carry forward his legacy after Khamenei and his four family members were killed in a U.S.-Israeli strike in late February.

The solemn procession followed a two-day mourning ceremony, drawing people from across the country who gathered to pay their final respects to the leader.

"He was our comrade-in-arms, our leader, the leader of the Islamic world, and the leader of the resistance. Today, the resistance and the entire Islamic world are mourning their leader," said a mourner called Mohammad.

For many in the crowd, Khamenei represented more than a political figure, but also a role model.

"He was a legend. He is the role model for all Muslims around the world. Personally, for me, Mr. Khamenei is the most important role model in my life," said Zeynab, another mourner.

"We will continue his path until the very end. We will stand firm like a mountain. We fear nothing," said Sakineh, a third mourner.

According to Iran's official plan, another funeral procession for the late supreme leader will be held in the central city of Qom on Tuesday, and on Wednesday, Khamenei's body will be transferred to the Shiite holy cities of Najaf and Karbala in Iraq for further rites.

He will be laid to rest in the northeastern Iranian city of Mashhad on Thursday, which the government has declared a day of national mourning.

Ali Khamenei's son, Mojtaba Khamenei, was selected as Iran's new supreme leader in March.

Several reservoirs in Hengzhou City of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region experienced dangerous situations including dam break and collapse on Monday due to the landfall of Typhoon Maysak, with the evacuation of affected residents becoming a top priority.

Since July 3, Guangxi, affected by Typhoon Maysak, has seen persistent heavy rainfall, leading to severe flooding in some areas.

The Liulan and Yunbiao Reservoirs in Hengzhou experienced dam break and collapse due to the flood, while the Liuwang Reservoir in Binyang County also saw overtopping.

In response, local departments of emergency management, fire rescue and water resources have been mobilized for rescue and relief operations, and the evacuation of affected residents is underway.

Temporary command centers have been set up in multiple towns, with the evacuation of residents identified as the absolute priority of the current response efforts.

"At present, there is a command center in Yunbiao Town and another one here in Xiaoyi Town. The main command center has now been moved to Yunbiao Town, because the water from the two reservoirs eventually flows into the Yunbiao River and then into the Yujiang River. Currently, we are evacuating residents and delivering supplies to those in safe areas," said Xiao Cai, deputy mayor of Hengzhou.

Weather forecast shows that heavy rains will continue from July 6 to 8, posing severe challenges to local flood control efforts.
