Most parts of north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region have been hit by prolonged high-temperature weather.
On Wednesday, cities including Tongliao, Chifeng, and Xilingol League recorded maximum temperatures exceeding 35 degrees Celsius, with some areas reaching over 40 degrees Celsius.
In addition, the scorching conditions are predicted to persist through Thursday and Friday across central and eastern Inner Mongolia, according to regional meteorological service reports, which add that temperatures are expected to exceed 40 degrees Celsius in eastern Chifeng and western Tongliao.
