China marked its fourth National Ecology Day Saturday, staging the main event in Hulunbuir, north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, under the theme "Laying a green foundation for Chinese modernization."

Multiple central government agencies, including the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, briefed on related policies and released achievements.

For the first time, grassroots representatives were invited to share experiences in ecological conservation.

Exhibitions on conservation progress and ecological products ran concurrently at the main venue and across the country.
