European stock markets ended lower across the board on Monday.
The United Kingdom's FTSE 100 closed for the bank holiday on Monday. France's CAC 40 index dropped 0.79 percent to finish at 8,334.50 points. Germany's DAX index fell 1.17 percent to end the session at 26,258.11 points.

Oil prices rose on Monday as the United States and Iran resumed hostilities for the first time in roughly a month.
The West Texas Intermediate for October delivery increased by 2.36 U.S. dollars, or 2.83 percent, to settle at 85.76 dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude for November delivery went up 2.39 dollars, or 2.71 percent, to settle at 90.49 dollars a barrel on the London ICE Futures Exchange.
