The 2026 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) concluded Sunday in Beijing, with exhibitors and guests highlighting opportunities, partnerships and cooperation in green and digital services.
Running from Sept. 9 to 13, this year's CIFTIS attracted a heavier presence of multinational companies compared to last year, with 473 of these being either Fortune Global 500 firms or industry leaders.
Norway's state secretary for industry and commerce, Ragnhild Sjoner Syrstad, addressed a packed audience at the Norwegian Pavilion, outlining her country's exhibition and voicing hopes for deeper cooperation with China in the green transition, renewable energy and maritime services.
"We've seen six signings of MOUs today, which is a really good sign for more cooperation and trade in services. We hope to see more trade in the green transition, renewable energy, maritime services, where we think there is an untapped potential to increase our common goal," said Ragnhild.
Wang Xun, vice president of the World Trade Centers Association, pointed out that China's complete supply chain and talent technology advantages are not only reflected in the traditional field of goods trade, but also empower the whole chain of service trade.
"In fact, the boundary between trade in services and trade in goods is becoming increasingly unclear, and the degree of integration between them is increasing because China is a country with an extremely developed supply chain. At the level of supply chain, there are more and more service links related to traditional manufacturing, which is value-added," said Wang. Tural Mammadov, Head of the Sales Department at IKRA Logistika, said China's vast market size continues to draw the company to deepen its presence in the country. At the same time, China's rapidly advancing cutting-edge technology inspires them and helps them find new ways to break through in the industry. An open platform like the CIFTIS has built a bridge for them and brought real opportunities for cooperation.
"We found and met with many Chinese partners here. I think it's a very fruitful and useful for us to improve our network in China. We are working the multimodal shipments from China to Azerbaijan to Georgia to Türkiye. So that's why I think that's very improving and the useful meetings here to improve our network in China," said Mammadov.
