China Media Group (CMG) has released a promotional video for its Mid-Autumn Festival gala, which will be held in Huainan, east China's Anhui Province, on Friday.
The gala will be broadcast live worldwide from 20:00 on Friday across multiple CCTV television channels, new media platforms and international social networks.
The main stage is designed in the style of a large piece of Xuan paper, a delicate and durable type of paper traditionally used for Chinese calligraphy and painting. It features a prominent 18-meter-diameter "moon" that can move horizontally and forms part of the backdrop.
Together, these elements create an immersive space where the real and virtual intertwine, offering audiences around the world a visual feast of Eastern aesthetics.
For Chinese people, the Mid-Autumn Festival symbolizes family reunion and harmony. Celebrated when the moon is full, the festival reflects the traditional belief that a full moon represents reunion, harmony and happiness.
The festival falls on the 15th day of the eighth month of the Chinese lunar calendar. This year, it falls on Sept. 25.
