European stock markets closed mixed on Friday.
The United Kingdom's FTSE 100 index rose 0.14 percent to close at 10,695.25 points. France's CAC 40 index edged slightly down by 0.04 percent to finish at 8,077.80 points. Germany's DAX index gained 0.56 percent to end the session at 25,408.64 points.

U.S. stocks ended higher on Friday.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by 478.64 points, or 0.93 percent, to 51,828.62. The S and P 500 climbed 39.28 points, or 0.51 percent, to 7,743.41. The Nasdaq Composite Index increased by 129.35 points, or 0.48 percent, to 27,068.72.
