Russian President Vladimir Putin said Russia welcomes the talks between the United States and China when answering media questions at St Petersburg on Friday.
The president said that China and the United States are the world's two largest economies. The agreements they reach, and how they reach them, will influence the entire global economy, including Russia.
"We welcome any agreement reached between China and the United States that is of positive significance," said Putin.
Chinese President Xi Jinping concluded on Friday a state visit to the United States.
Xi kicked off his state visit to the United States on Wednesday, which was the first in 11 years.
