Chinese AI robots and algorithms turned heads at the World AI Summit in Amsterdam, where organizers discussed a possible China edition as early as next year.

The summit, a major global gathering for the artificial intelligence industry, was held Wednesday and Thursday in the Dutch capital. This year's event focused on safeguarding the AI future and shaping a new AI paradigm.

Chinese exhibitors, including robot maker Unitree Robotics, brought their star robots to the event, including humanoid and canine models. Small crowds gathered round the bots to see what they were capable of.

Meanwhile, industry leaders at the summit shared their insights on practical AI deployment, innovative algorithms, and AI agents empowering global businesses, noting that China is playing an increasing role in each of these realms.

"I think one of the things is that we are always amazed by what the Chinese are doing, is that they're able to come up with extremely good new algorithms. Whether it's DeepSeek, it's Moonshot, or Alibaba, whatever, will come up with new algorithms that is going to affect the world," said Simon See, global executive of Nvidia.

Given China's clear advances in this sector, a Chinese exhibition group was also invited by the organizers to discuss the possibility of hosting the event in China.

"We were invited by the organizer of World AI Summit to discuss how to launch this event in China next year. And moreover, we are also going to bring more Chinese exhibitors and delegates to this event," said Xu Jia, president of Shanghai International Exhibition Group.
